Shawl is finished!
My latest pattern turned out nicely =0)

Finished my lace shawl last night and blocked it today. It's dry now so I took a few pictures. This is my first try at designing my own lace pattern, so I'm really pleased that all the hard work paid off and the pattern worked out. The problem (which I anticipated early on) is that the yarn I chose, Malabrigo Silky Merino, is lovely but VERY variegated, and as such the pattern is hard to make out amidst the pooling. I'll have to try knitting this pattern again in a solid (dark?) colour. I do love this dark mossy green though.
I aimed for a "leafy" sort of pattern, with what I'm thinking of as "lattice leaves" at the top (small leaves framed with a yarnover border) and then I was trying to depict larger leaves below. As it turned out, the larger leaves ended up looking a bit like flowers (tulips?) which is actually a nice effect.

pretty!! Way to go. The cat test is the ultimate one ;)
