Knitting Chart Generator
Version 1.0 is liveFebruary 16th, 2009, 4:12 pm
I've just coded up a knitting chart generator to help me with creating lace knitting patterns. Basically it reads a line-by-line knitting pattern (e.g. k, p, k2tog) written from top to bottom, left to right, and creates a chart to be read from bottom to top, right to left (as the knitting will appear in the final work).
So far it's geared only towards simple lace projects, i.e. I haven't included cable stitches and more complicated stitches.
This generator was inspired by my slowly dwindling stash of graph paper, and my friend's PERL version which is to be found on her blog astroknits.
Thoughts for future versions:
Allow for multiple knit, purl stitches (for example k2, p3).
Include cable stitches.
