OK, it's official, I'm no longer allowed unsupervised in any yarn shops. I have enough pretty skeins to get me through several projects. I've broken my "no yarn without a specific project in mind" rule multiple times over the last few weeks. But Three Bags Full had a massive sale, it's not my fault.

Christmas Yarn from Beehive and Boutique de Laine in Victoria

I got two lovely yarns for Christmas, from my mum I got a skein of Berroco Peruvia (100% Peruvian Highland Wool) in colour 7114 / dyelot 843. It's a soft and pretty burgundy which is (so far) destined to become a Koolhaas hat.

Derek gave me two skeins of Manos del Uruguay Handspun Kettle Dyed Pure Wool. Manos del Uruguay ('The Hands of Uruguay') is a non-profit organization which assembles over 400 artisans in cooperatives scattered throughout the countryside of Uruguay. The aim of the organization is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women. I haven't the faintest idea what this yarn is going to be made into but I just had to have it, yum.

Three Bags Full Sale

Accidentally found myself in Three Bags Full on sale day, whoops, really I had no idea, sure, yeah.

I got five skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino, three in this really cool grey-green/pale-green two-tone ('Bosques 470') and two in a turquoisey-purply-greeny mix ('Caribeno 474'). The Bosques is for ME, for a warm & fuzzy shawl of some sort. The Caribeno will be something for mum because those are 'her colours'.

I got another skein of Berroco as well, this time it's Ultra Alpaca in a darkish green/brown (colour 6272 / dyelot 801). It will probably end up being a boyish beanie of some sort.

Picked up the last skein they had of Misti Alpaca in black, which refused to be photographed without looking like a black turd. It's very soft and fine and will become the start of a shawl (I can pay more for additional skeins later, right?).

Also got myself two skeins of blue sky 100% organic cotton (colour 622 / dyelot 9594) which has no future plans, and wasn't even on that good a discount, but it's ORANGE which as far as I'm concerned is more than enough reason to buy just about anything.

So that's it, I'm cut off for now. Time to actually get going on some of these projects...
